Circuit symbols and schematic example for LTspice
Selected LTspice files.
Directions:
- Download the above LTspice file, and unzip in the directory you will use for LT spice.
- Download the above switch.lib file, and save in the same directory.
- Run LT spice, and open switch.lib. Save in the same directory as "switch.lib"
- Open B.1.3.asc, and run
- To plot the output voltage: click on the plot pane, select Plot Settings / Add trace, then select V(out)
Circuit symbols and schematic example for Cadence Allegro Design Entry CIS (also known as "Capture")
The symbol library and the example are for Cadence SPB 15.7 (July 2006). Update 2/07/07 dm.
Note: the files below are for use only with Cadence Allegro Design Entry CIS.
Library of circuit symbols SWITCH.OLB corresponding to the models in switch.lib.
Capture project example: Buck_CCM1.opj and the corresponding design configuration: BUCK_CCM1.DSN
Basic instructions:
(1) Download all files (switch.lib, SWITCH.OLB, Buck_CCM1.opj, BUCK_CCM1.DSN) to a working folder.
(2) Start Design Entry CIS (Capture), open project Buck_CCM1. Open the schematic page (Design resources -> buck_ccm1.dsn -> SCHEMATIC1 -> PAGE1, double-click on PAGE1). Click to make the Schematic window active.
(3) Place -> part (opens a new window with available symbol libraries). Click on Add Library to add SWITCH.OLB. Symbols in the library should now be available to enter into the schematic. Cancel to close the library window.
(4) PSpice -> Edit Simulation Profile -> Configuration Files, click on Libraries, click on Browse, select switch.lib and Add to Design. Click OK to close the Simulation Setings window.
(5) At this point you should be able to run PSpice simulation (PSpice -> Run, or click on the "Run PSpice" button)
(6) Close and save the project: Make design window active, File -> Close Project, choose Yes All to save all changes
(7) Create your own (new) project: File -> New -> Project, choose Analog or Mixed A/D, select location and project name, choose Create upon an existing project, Browse to select Buck_CCM1. This should give you a new project with required libraries and a copy of the schematic from Buck_CCM1. You can then modify the schematic, run PSpice simulations etc.
