We’ve already got a long list of upcoming Rockchip RK3288 based Android media players, but no low cost development boards have been announced to date. We can certainly expect a Radxa Rock 2 board with the Cortex A17 processor, but it might not be the only one, as Firefly-RK3288 development board powered by Rockchip RK3288 is currently being developed by another Chinese team.

A：那麼該系統是在今日淩晨Google IO 2014大會上正式發佈出來的，但是該系統現在還不支援下載，預計會等到明天率先支援Nexus 5或是Nexus 7進行系統更新，至於網路中合適支援下載現在還不清楚，但是估計不會讓用戶等太久的。

　　那麼明天的Nexus 5或是Nexus 7系統更新會直接提示到用戶的手機當中，不用再找網路位址進行下載。那麼Android 5.0作出以下更新和改變：

As previously mentioned, work was in progress to design development boards based on Rockchip processors. Radxa Rock and Radxa Rock Lite, 2 boards powered by Rockchip RK3188, are now available to early developers, and the final versions will soon be broadly available.

Linaro 13.11 Release with Linux Kernel 3.12 and Android 4.4

This release includes Linux Kernel 3.12 (baseline), Linux Kernel 3.10.20 (LSK), Android 4.4 for the first time, and Ubuntu Linaro 13.11 (still based on Raring). Beside Android Kit Kat support, other noticeable updates include initial documentation for LAVA, and further work on ARMv8 support.

Android 4.4系統漏洞

Android 4.4系統才剛發佈，大家目前都還沉浸在Android 4.4 KitKat發佈後的甜蜜氛圍中。在這個時候真有些不好意思跟大家談論今天的這個話題。可是強烈的職業道德感一直在驅趕著，沒辦法必須得狠心打破大家的這份喜悅了。那麼，這個讓人掃興的消息到底是什麼呢？

        Master Key漏洞大家應該不陌生，它可以說是Android系統的熟客，駭客們可以利用這個漏洞通過遠端遙控的方式操控用戶的Android系統及他們的設備。在之前各個版本的Android系統中，Master Key漏洞都曾出現過，而現在似乎在最新的Android 4.4 KitKat作業系統中又出現了新的變種漏洞，且同樣是一種非常嚴重的Master Key漏洞。　　在2013年7月份，Bluebox安全機構表示發現了一個Android系統漏洞，幾乎99%的Android設備都有可能受到影響。這個漏洞可以在Android用戶安裝應用程式時繞過程式驗證和惡意代碼檢測，允許用戶手中的Android設備在沒有加密簽名的情況下就安裝被人通過漏洞惡意修改過的應用程式。雖然google公司一直表示已經將該漏洞修復，但是不知道各大廠商和運營商們是否即時將漏洞補丁推送到用戶的手機中進行更新。

北韓「三池淵」平板電腦

北韓7月正式發售國產的平板電腦，為紀念抗日戰爭，命名為「三池淵」(Samjiyon SA-70)，國際社會紛紛都不看好，但美國媒體卻對北韓平板有不同的聲音，有學者實際試用後，表達正面的肯定。

Rockchip RK3066/RK30xx Processors Documentation, Source Code and Tools

Rockchip RK3066 (part of RK30xx family) is a Chinese dual ARM Cortex A9 SoC targeting multimedia products such as tablets (e.g. Cube U30GT), mini PC (e.g UG802, MK808) and in theory set-top boxes, but I can’t find any products based on this Rockchip processor. It seems mini PCs/ HDMI TV sticks have taken over this market.

Linux source code for RK3188

Rockchip’s RK3188 processor is one of the fastest ARM Cortex-A9 chips around. The 28nm quad-core processor outperforms the chips found in the Samsung Galaxy S III and Google Nexus 7, for instance. And it’s a relatively inexpensive chip, which explains why it’s proven popular with Chinese tablet and TV box makers.
Most devices featuring the RK3188 processor ship with Android 4.1 or Android 4.2. But soon you may be able to run Ubuntu, Fedora, or other desktop Linux operating systems on an RK3188 device.

Rikomagic MK802 IV

The folks at Rikomagic UK got their hands on some Linux source code for the RK3188 chipset, and they’ve posted the source to Github.
This isn’t the same thing as having a fully functional version of Ubuntu or another OS that you can run on a device like the MK802 IV mini PC or Cube U30GT2 tablet. But it is an important first step.
Developers can use this source code to try to port Linux-based operating systems (such as PicUntu) to run on these devices.
While the RK3188 chip is faster than almost any ARM-based processor released before mid-2012, it’s still not as fast as most x86 processors. So don’t expect Ubuntu to run as well on an MK802 IV as it does on a laptop or desktop PC with an Intel Core i5 CPU.
What’s exciting about the prospect of running Linux on this sort of device is that ARM-based hardware tends to be far cheaper and more energy efficient than devices with x86 processors. So you might be able to turn an $80 device like the Tronsmart T428 into a Linux-powered PC that can run desktop apps including LibreOffice, GIMP, Firefox, and more.
You could also turn a tiny ARM-based mini PC into a home media server or even a web server.
If you want to try your hand at helping make that happen, the source code is now available(full source code 130M bytes).
